Shared family security on dated devices

It is known that "in the Family" allows that up to 6 members are able to share the same Mac computer , enabling the parent as the only one to provide the same credit card for all family members. Everyone must have, approval to purchase each song or other in the Apple store from the householder. What to do in case we have the Mac with OS Yosemite, or other Apple devices? How can we set up the creation of an Apple ID for the child? Let's start with the specific procedure for each device.

iPhone, iPad o iPod touch con IOS 8

The implementation of an Apple ID for the child from an IOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod with IOS 8) and adding it to the Family group, from the device itself follows a different procedure depending on the device.

Go to iCloud Settings, click on "Family" and tap "Create an ID for the child".

Enter the date of birth of the child here, which is unchangeable once the account is created.

Read carefully the Privacy document and press Accept.

Enter the credit card security code and press Next.

Enter the baby's name and press Next, then gives rise to the Apple ID and press Next again.

Follow the instructions on the screen to determine the password, then choose the security questions and represent the child's account.

When configuring the child's Apple Id, you can customize it according to our needs. Children will be able to have the same "In family" functions as the other participants and by default, will have accessibility to the same content as movies, TV Programs, music, applications and books.

The "Ask to buy" function, is enabled by default for children under the age of 13 years, but it can however be disabled in the following ways.

Go to Settings click on iCloud then click on Family and select the name of the child for iOS 8.

Go to the Apple menu click on "System Preferences" then click on iCloud, then click on “Manage family” and finally click on the child's name for the OS Yosemite.

If the "Ask to buy" function is disabled, the minor can make purchases which will then be attributed with the payment method set by the parent..

Mac with OS Yosemite

Instead, make the Apple ID for the little one, on a Mac with OS Yosemite and in the "Family" group.

Go to the Apple menu click on "System Preference", then click on "iCloud", then click on "Manage family" and finally click on the add button.

Select "Create an Apple ID for a child who does not have an account" and click continue. Enter the date of birth of the child, unchangeable once the account is created;

Enter the child's Apple ID, the name, the surname and password, then click Continue;

Enter your credit card security code and click Accept.

Follow the instructions on the screen to set a password. Choose security questions and set up your child's account. Once the Apple ID is created, you will have a confirmation email.
